Major functions of ecosystem are traditionally being described in a dogmatic, stagnant, and antiquated way. A paper was published with a new conceptual addition to key functions of aquatic ecosystem: the latter is seen as a kind of a grand autonomous bioreactor governed by a diverse genetic pool
